As we reflect on the last 55 years of our existence, Madison Park Development Corp. has been on a journey that has led to the transformation of Nubian Square in indelible ways.  MPDC has decades of experience conceptualizing and bringing to fruition community-driven and based real estate development projects and initiatives that align with our organizational mission and values.

MPDC is poised to continue its inspirational and incredible quest towards building and sustaining a thriving community. As we enter our 56th year, MPDC is steadfast and focused on its marrow-deep commitment to continuing the legacy of our founders. Throughout our tenure, MPDC has rooted itself in the strength, passion, and vision of our community stakeholders and leaders.

There is an opportunity as MPDC looks towards the future to ensure our next steps reflect the compassionate, powerful, innovative and resilient contributions of our founders, staff, residents and community leaders. MPDC’s goal is simple: As we celebrate legacy, honor community, and embrace the promise of what the future will bring, we need to be rooted in our commitment to racial and economic equity.

MPDC hosts an extensive array of programs that strengthen and secure the lives of individuals and families in the Roxbury community. The available programming, initiatives and commitments focus on resident and youth leadership development, health equity, arts and culture, education and the creation and preservation of affordable housing opportunities. All of this to support the continued transformation of Nubian Square – the heart and soul of Boston.

MPDC is engaging in a rigorous strategic planning process that includes integrating the voices of multiple stakeholders in an effort to weave the ideas, feedback and insights that only they can provide. Through this process, the organization is reflecting on our legacy, incorporating the needs and desires of the community, and ultimately arriving envisioning what the future will look like. One key component is examining how MPDC integrates racial equity, economic development into decision-making. Being more reflective and intentional in this space will lead us to more reflecting our ideals. MPDC will continue to evolve as the community evolves, with a steadfast commitment to reflect our mission and values into every decision that is made along the way.

We look forward to sharing our progress and continuing to be a beacon light for our community.
