Four members of ARC/Architectural Resources Cambridge’s design team recently received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) professional accreditation, making over 60 percent of the firm’s design staff now LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED AP’s).
LEED AP’s are building industry professionals who have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building and the LEED green building rating system.
"ARC has a long-standing commitment to sustainable and green design," said Philip Laird, president of ARC. "We’re very pleased that over 60 percent of our firm’s design staff are now LEED accredited professionals and we continue to encourage and support this training for our entire staff."
Those who have recently become LEED AP are: Brian Ip, Lucas Herringshaw, Meghan Van Dorn and Colleen Barrett.
A number of ARC’s recent projects have achieved LEED certification, including Genzyme Corp.’s Science Center and the University of Colorado at Boulder’s Koelbel Building, both of which earned LEED-Gold certification. Additionally, 80 percent of ARC’s current projects are registered and pursuing various levels of LEED-certification.
