The folks at A.W. Perry have decided that owning and managing properties just isn’t enough – now they want to be full-time brokers as well.
The 125-year-old real estate firm has now created Perry Brokerage Assoc., which will focus on tenant and landlord representation in the Financial District, Back Bay and along the northern portion of Route 3.
Although the majority of A.W. Perry’s work has been in acquiring and managing properties, the firm has long leased its own properties instead of relying on an outside brokerage house, said Richard Beal, president of Perry Brokerage Assoc.
"I wouldn’t say there is a dearth of brokers anywhere, but because of our experience I think we can offer an amount of client service that will differentiate us," said Beal, who spent eight years with A.W. Perry and was a senior vice president at the firm. "We’ve pretty much been involved in every aspect of commercial real estate. We’ve done an extensive amount of leasing in-house."
A.W. Perry created a completely separate entity in Perry Brokerage Assoc. since they will be representing both landlords and tenants, and trying to grow their list of clients besides those at their properties, like at 20 Winthrop Square and The Berkeley Building at 420 Boylston St. in Boston, and EMD Serono’s corporate headquarters in Rockland.
