Norwell’s Acella Construction has begun construction of the new Community Nursery School (CNS) in Lexington.
The new building, which will be located on the same site at 2325 Massachusetts Ave., will include an updated floor plan with classrooms off a central hallway. The plan also calls for additional meeting space, a library, an art studio and music space.
The new school is scheduled to open its doors next fall. While construction is ongoing on Massachusetts Avenue, the school and students have been relocated to temporary space in Trinity Covenant Church on Clematis Road.
"We’re excited to break ground on this project," said David Dirubbo, president of ACELLA Construction. "When completed, this new school will give the CNS family a great new home to continue their important mission of fostering social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth."
The project is being designed by LDa Architecture & Interiors of Cambridge.
