Four people have been arrested in connection with operating a network of more than a dozen people who conspired to commit burglaries and break-ins across the state, including breaking into several ATMs to steal more than $340,000 in cash.

"These individuals allegedly conducted these crimes throughout Massachusetts, and these arrests are the result of a collaborative investigation between our office and the Massachusetts State Police," Attorney General Martha Coakley said in a statement. "We will continue to work with our partners throughout all law enforcement agencies to ensure that our communities are safe and businesses are protected."

The arrests resulted from indictments returned by a statewide grand jury last week against 16 people in six counties who orchestrated burglaries and attempted break-ins around the state, according to a statement. James J. McNeil, of Haverhill; Francisco Ortiz, of Lowell; Wilson Martinez Jr., of Pepperell; and Feliciano Colon, of Lawrence were arrested.
