Peter Bailey has joined Hammond Residential as an agent in the firm’s Hingham office.

In his new position, Bailey will be representing buyers and sellers from Hammond’s office located at 15 Leavitt St.

"I have admired Peter’s brokerage skills and negotiating acumen since we both worked together at Success Real Estate. Peter has a broad understanding of home construction as well as the social and economic forces that drive the local real estate marketplace on the South Shore," said Jeff Forsythe, manager of Hammond Residential’s Hingham office.

Both Bailey and his wife, Peggy, taught in the Hingham Public Schools for more than 30 years. Bailey taught economics and history at the high school, where he also implemented the varsity lacrosse program.

Bailey also serves as chairman of the board for the Hingham Federal Credit Union.
