BankGloucester has donated funds totaling $15,000 to 15 different community groups for the bank’s fifth annual "Banking for the Community" program.

Patrick Thorpe, the bank’s president and CEO, presented checks to the 15 winners of the program during a reception at the bank Wednesday.

More than 10,000 members of the public cast their votes for which local groups should win the funds.

The organization receiving the most votes was the Rose Baker Senior Center, which received $5,000. Cape Ann Animal Aid finished second and received $3,000. Gloucester Education Foundation received the third highest number of votes and $1,000. The remaining 12 organizations received $500 each.
