For the second week in a row, the average quoted rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage in Massachusetts remained one of the highest in the country, at 5.3 percent, up 3.7 percent from last week’s rate of 5.11 percent, according to online mortgage tracker Zillow.

Rates in the Bay State remained above the national rate last week of 5.25 percent. The national rate rose 4.6 percent last week from the week prior, when it stood at 5.02 percent.

Nationwide, Maryland mortgage rates were the only rates higher than Massachusetts mortgage rates, at 5.35 percent. Georgia mortgage rates were the lowest, at 5.15 percent.
