Bay State Mortgage Rates Highest In U.S.

The average 30-year mortgage rate in Massachusetts rose slightly to 5.11 percent last week, according to online mortgage tracker Zillow, the highest average rate in the country.

The average national rate last week increased slightly to 5.02 percent.

Nationally, Georgia mortgage rates (4.93 percent) and Virginia mortgage rates (4.96 percent) were the lowest in the country.
