Business Development Strategies Inc. (BDS) has helped Cape Cod Lumber secure a government incentives package to build a $7.5 million facility in Abington.

BDS said the package includes approximately $500,000 in the form of Tax Increment Financing (TIF) and a personal property tax exemption from the town of Abington. The family-owned building products distributor plans to build a 132,000-square-foot headquarters on Groveland Street. Cape Cod Lumber said the expansion will enable it to retain 92 full-time jobs and add five full-time jobs.

The tax increment financing incentive is part of the state’s Economic Development Incentive Program (EDIP). BDS, a Medway-based government incentives consulting firm, negotiated the economic incentives package.
