A photo of the listing. Former Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett has sold his literally Ritz-y pad at the Ritz Carlton condo development for $2.8 million. The property had been listed last August, just after Beckett’s trade to the L.A. Dodgers, for $3.2 million. It went through almost half a dozen price cuts before finally finding a buyer.

Despite buying at the height of the market in May 2007, Becket did squeak out of the property with a slim profit of $106,250. The listing agent was Jason Oberle of Metropolitan Boston Real Estate.

The three-bed, 4.5-bath apartment features views of  Boston Common and the Charles River along with a cream and baby blue master bath with grey pinstripes — maybe the writing was on the wall after all.
