Berkshire Bank - bank newsPittsfield’s Berkshire Bank said it will convert the Legacy Banks branch offices to Berkshire Bank next weekend. During this time, the Legacy operating systems will changeover to Berkshire’s, signs will be changed, and the branches will transition to operate as Berkshire Bank beginning Monday, Nov. 14.

This is the final step in the merger process of Berkshire with Legacy, which was officially completed July 21. In total, Berkshire Bank will now operate more than 60 branches in Massachusetts, New York and Vermont.

"We are excited to complete our merger process with Legacy Banks and fully bring together our two organizations," said Sean Gray, executive vice president of retail banking for Berkshire Bank. "We share deep roots in our community as well as a strong commitment to the cities and towns that we serve, and we look forward to joining forces to strengthen that commitment even further."

Customers previously received a full welcome packet of information with details about their account transition. The Legacy branches converted in New York are in Latham and Albany. The conversion will begin at the close of business on Thursday, Nov. 10. All Berkshire Bank and Legacy Banks branches will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11 for the Veterans Day holiday and those offices normally open on Saturday and Sunday will be closed on Nov. 12 and 13. All branches will reopen on Monday, Nov. 14 as Berkshire Bank.
