Berkshire Bank - bank newsPittsfield’s Berkshire Bank Foundation has awarded more than $817,077 in grants to nonprofit organizations in Berkshire County and the Pioneer Valley in Massachusetts, Northeastern New York State and Southern Vermont during 2010.

"The foundation is pleased with the many grants it made during 2010 and the continued growth of the Employee Volunteer Program that carried out projects across the bank’s footprint," said Peter J. Lafayette, executive director of the Berkshire Bank Foundation. "Berkshire Bank remains a leader in philanthropy and community involvement and is continually recognized for the many ways it gives back to the communities it serves."

While Berkshire Bank’s priorities are education and community development projects, it also donated to youth, cultural and human service organizations.
