Berkshire Bank - bank newsPittsfield-based Berkshire Bank is conducting a company-wide care package drive through its employee volunteer program from Feb. 14 through Feb. 25.

Donated items will be collected in all Berkshire Bank locations. Recommended items include granola bars, microwave foods, coffee, hearty soups, cereals, socks, sunscreen and body wash. The care packages will be given to soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to a statement.

"Berkshire Bank is very proud to once again sponsor this care package drive to benefit soldiers from our region," said Peter J. Lafayette, Berkshire Bank Foundation executive director. "We are committed to giving back to the communities we serve, and there’s no better way of doing that than by giving back to the young men and women from our area who are serving our country."

The USO of the Pioneer Valley and Blue Star Mothers of the Capital District are partnering with Berkshire Bank on the project.
