StateStreet_Logo_standardLynn Blake has been named global head of index equity of State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management business of Boston-based State Street Corp.

Blake, a 23-year SSgA veteran, will replace Paul Brakke, 53, senior managing director and head of the Global Structured Products Group, when he retires at the end of the year.

Blake, 45, will report to Rick Lacaille, global chief investment officer for SSgA.

"This is a seamless transition from one indexing industry veteran to another," said Lacaille. "Lynn and Paul have worked side-by-side in SSgA’s Global Structured Products Group for almost two decades building a strong team and delivering solutions for our clients. Lynn is a seasoned professional who is a passionate advocate for index management-a cornerstone of SSgA’s business. We’re confident in her ability to leverage the team’s seasoned professionals and global resources to ensure that SSgA remains at the forefront of innovation in indexation."

Blake joined SSgA in 1987 and has held several senior positions within the organization, most recently head of non-U.S. markets in the Global Structured Products Group. She has also served as a portfolio manager for several non-U.S. index equity portfolios. A CFA charter member, Blake is also a member of SSgA’s Senior Management Group and Fiduciary Review Committee.
