Local Coldwell Banker Vice President Robert Shortsleeve has been awarded this year’s Andrew F. Hickey Distinguished Service Award.

A 20-year veteran in the Greater Boston Association of Realtors, Shortsleeve is a regional vice president with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Waltham.

"Once I got over the surprise, I realized what an honor this was," said Shortsleeve. "I was truly moved and flattered that my peers thought that much of me to present me this award in his honor."

Established in 2006, the Andrew F. Hickey Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to one local Realtor for his or her lengthy and dedicated service to GBAR and the Greater Boston Real Estate Board. Recipients must hold membership in GBAR for a minimum of 15 years and are recognized as prominent and effective leaders within the Realtor association, real estate industry and their local community.

Shortsleeve is a member of the GBREB’s executive leadership team and has served on the GBREB board of directors for four years.

Shortsleeve is also serves as the chair of the Boston Zoning Board of Appeals. He volunteers for the Pine Street Inn as well as the Home for Little Wanderers and Rosie’s Place.
