Forty-eight human service nonprofit organizations in Boston have been awarded $650,000 from the city’s Partners with Non-Profits (PNP) program, to upgraded public facilities and make on-site physical improvements.
The awards will leverage a projected total cost of $2 million, according to a statement. It will benefit social service organizations, youth and recreation centers, a number of YMCA and Boys and Girls Club neighborhood branches, as well as health centers and other nonprofits.
"For more than 20 years, Partners with Non-Profits has directly invested in dozens of organizations that invest so deeply in the people of Boston," said Mayor Thomas M. Menino. "Their commitment to the neighborhoods helps make our city so strong."
