The Boston Preservation Alliance will be presenting several organizations with its 2010 Preservation Achievement Award at a ceremony to take place on Oct. 21.

The awards honor outstanding achievements in historic preservation and compatible new construction in Boston, according to a statement. Awards are presented to property owners and developers of exceptional preservation-related projects in order to celebrate their positive impact on Boston’s built environment.

This year’s awards recipients include: 540 Harrison Avenue Realty Trust and Grassi Design Group for Creative Preservation of A Historic Structure; New England Conservatory and Wessling Architects for Exceptional Maintenance of A Historic Property; The Suffolk Company and CBT Architects for Notable New Construction in Harmony with Boston’s Built Environment; Old South Meeting House and McGinley Kalsow & Assoc. for Restoration of an Iconic Boston Landmark; ZUMIX Inc. and Util Inc. for Significant Neighborhood Rehabilitation; Lisa Greenfield for Significant Public Art Contributing to Boston’s Urban Fabric; the City of Boston and STV Inc. for Significant Rehabilitation by a Public Agency; the United States General Services Administration and Goody Clancy for John W. McCormack Post Office and Courthouse; Normandy Real Estate Partners and Cambridge Seven Assoc. for Significant Rehabilitation/Restoration; Emerson College and Elkus Manfredi Architects for Paramount Center; Park Street Church and Mills Whitaker Architects for Successful Adaptation to Accommodate Accessibility; and Judith Selwyn for the John Codman Award for Lifetime Achievement.
