This afternoon, the Brighton branch of the Boston Public Library will celebrate its reopening after extensive interior renovations that began in January 2009.
The renovations for the 22,400-square-foot library at 40 Academy Hill Road included increased technology capacity, improved ADA accessibility and a new community room, according to a statement. The library is also one of Boston’s first renovated buildings to incorporate U.S. Green Building Council LEED standards.
Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino will join local officials and residents to celebrate the library’s reopening.
