Those working the Boston-Cambridge-Quincy metro area are the second-highest paid employees in the East, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
Paychecks for these Bay Staters are an average of $58,330 annually. These Massachusetts workers came in second after those in Washington, D.C., who earn an average of $60,090.
Workers in Framingham rounded out the top three metro areas with an average pay of $57,660. Those working in the Lowell-Billerica-Chelmsford area came in eighth with an average annual pay of $54,110.
The neighboring areas of Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk and Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford in Connecticut made the top 10 with an average annual pay of $57,340 and $51,520, respectively.
