Boston’s 171 Newbury St., which houses the Pucker Gallery and a Clarks shoe store, was purchased as part of a delayed sale for approximately $13 million.
Michael d’Hemecourt, partner and president at Boston Realty Advisors who represented the seller and procured the buyer, wouldn’t reveal the exact sale price, but said it was in the "mid-$13 million" range for the 8,529-square-foot, six-story building. The buyer, he said, was a "foreign entity" that hasn’t invested in Boston up until this point.
It was put under agreement in the fall, said d’Hemecourt.
As part of the deal, the gallery, which owns the building and has been in the space since 1967, will move at an undetermined date to another location along Newbury Street and the remaining vacant space will be completely renovated, he said.
The deal will officially close in the spring.
