Mayor Thomas M. Menino, Historic Boston Inc. and members of the Roxbury community will celebrate the start of a $2 million renovation of the Eustis Street Fire House in Roxbury’s Dudley Square.

The celebration at noon tomorrow will mark the latest milestone for the city’s Dudley Vision planning process, first announced by Menino in the summer of 2007.

Built in 1859, the Eustis Street Fire House is the oldest standing fire house structure in Boston and has been vacant for close to 60 years. The renovation project will enable Historic Boston to make the site their new headquarters, as well as create nonprofit commercial space, program space inside and outside the building for historic documentation and interpretation, and a first floor conference room for public use.
