Bourque Joins The Village Bank Board

Janice Bourque Janice T. Bourque of Newton Highlands has joined The Village Bank’s board of directors.

Bourque, managing director for life sciences at Hercules Technology Growth Capital Inc., previously served on the bank’s board from 2000 to 2005, and chaired its commercial real estate loans committee.

Bourque helped launch and grow the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MBC), a nonprofit biotechnology trade association, in roles from administrative director to executive director to president and CEO, a position she left in 2004, according to a statement. She then joined Comerica Bank as senior vice president and head of the technology and life sciences division.

She recently consulted with Commons Capital of Brookline, providing strategic corporate investor fundraising for a joint venture focused on innovative healthcare investments for developing and emerging countries.
