The Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) has unanimously approved a 305-bed dorm at Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Boston campus.
The new student housing at 525 Huntington Ave. will allow Wentworth to house 96 percent of its student body on campus, according to college officials.
The $43 million, seven-story building will include 71 apartment-style dorm units, with 68 percent occupied by a single individual. The project also includes 1,897 square feet of open space that will be located at the building entry on Huntington Avenue. The project creates 275 construction jobs and six permanent jobs, according to the BRA.
