Bright Horizons Family Solutions LLC will open a new child care center in Boston’s Back Bay at 370 Stuart St.

The center will open Sept. 1 in the space occupied by a child care center operated by a local company for their employees. It boasts two outdoor play areas as well as an indoor gross motor room and additional enrichment rooms for art, computer and science activities.

"This particular center holds a special place in the hearts of those of us at Bright Horizons because it was designed 20 years ago by our dear friend and longtime Bright Horizons employee Jim Greenman, who passed away last year," said Bright Horizons President and Chief Operating Officer Mary Ann Tocio. "Jim was a true early education visionary and because of his dedication, moving into this space feels a little like inheriting a precious family heirloom."

The center will offer full- and part-time child care for children six weeks to six-years-old as well as back-up child care, according to a statement.
