Bristol County Savings Bank’s charitable arm, the Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation (BCSCF) – Pawtucket Advisory Board (PAB), awarded seven grants totaling $27,742 to local organizations.
The following organizations received grants from the foundation: the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket ($10,000); the Catholic Foundation of Rhode Island ($4,000); The Arc of Blackstone Valley ($3,500); Camp Ruggles ($3,400); the Elizabeth J. Johnson Pawtucket History Research Center ($3,000); St. Vincent DePaul – St. Leo’s Church ($3,000); and The Community Players ($842).
Pawtucket Red Sox President and Foundation member Mike Tamburro hosted the ceremony in which the grants were given out. He also helped facilitate the placement of each organization’s name on the electronic scoreboard in centerfield of McCoy Stadium.
Bristol County Savings Bank has long been an active supporter in the communities it serves. The foundation was established in 2001, when $1 million was contributed to it in order to provide grants to organizations which operate exclusively for charitable purposes within the city of Pawtucket.
