Bristol County Savings Bank recently had a topping off for its New Bedford branch.
The Taunton-based bank broke ground on the new branch less than two months ago. It’s the bank’s first branch in New Bedford and 11th in the state.
The final trusses and beams for the highest exterior elevations of its 3,500 square-foot building are now in place.
The office, expected to open in the middle of this year, will create about eight permanent jobs. The project is also expected to bring more than 200 construction jobs to the New Bedford area.

The building will feature photovoltaic panels on the south side of the exterior and a high-efficiency heating and air conditioning system to conserve energy.
Located at 1307 Ashley Boulevard, Bristol County Savings Bank’s new branch will feature a modern, wood clapboard exterior similar to the look of the bank’s Dartmouth office, two drive-through lanes, a drive-through ATM, a café, a coin machine and an exterior standing clock.
