The charitable arm of Taunton-based Bristol County Savings Bank has awarded $14,500 in grants to 12 literacy and education groups that serve children in Pawtucket, R.I.
The Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation was established in 1996 as part of the Bank’s 150th anniversary celebration. Its purpose is to fund needs that contribute to the economy and the social well-being of the people and institutions located in greater Attleboro/Taunton and greater Dartmouth as well as Pawtucket, according to the bank.
Since the foundation began, more than $5.75 million in grants has been awarded to more than 300 organizations. The foundation awarded a record $822,472 to 129 different organizations last year.
