Brookline police are searching for a suspected bank robber who robbed an Eastern Bank branch on Harvard Street on Tuesday.
According to police, the suspect – described as a white man around 30 years of age and approximately six feet tall – entered the bank just before 3 p.m., passed a note to the teller and demanded cash.
He displayed a black handgun, banged it on the counter and pointed it in the teller’s direction, demanding cash. After receiving the cash, the suspect apologized and thanked the tellers, according to MassMostWanted.org, a website sponsored by the Massachusetts Bankers Association and maintained by the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council.
Brookline police said he fled on foot in the Coolidge Corner area. Nobody was injured during the robbery.
According to MassMostWanted, the teller recognized the suspect as the same person who robbed the same bank in early May, and the method and suspect description are similar to a CitiBank robbery that took place last fall, also on Harvard Street.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Brookline Police at 617-730-2222.
