Center Communities of BrooklineCenter Communities of Brookline (CCB), a 517-unit affordable senior housing community, has received a grant for more than $300,000 to retrofit lighting in the community’s three buildings with energy efficient motion sensor fixtures.

This upgrade will lower the CCB’s electricity usage and utility costs by as much as 50 percent, according to a statement. The grant, which is part of the Low Income Multi Family Energy Retrofit program, will fund the installation of more than 1,000 motion sensor lighting fixtures.

The upgraded, energy-efficient lighting will be installed in the main common areas of the three CCB buildings and in outdoor areas.
