Boston Bruins forward Shawn Thornton has been signed to represent City of Boston Credit Union.

As a spokesperson, Thornton will help build public awareness of the community credit union, partnering his strong work ethic with the credit union’s history of always being there for their membership, according to a statement.

Thornton, also a member, will be featured in television, radio and print campaigns. In addition to promoting the credit union’s products and services, Thornton will also stress the universal credit union philosophy of "people helping people," according to a statement.

"Our partnership with Shawn Thornton gives the credit union the opportunity to align ourselves with a local figure known for working hard for his team, which is how we feel we work for our members," said City of Boston Credit Union CEO Dan Trombley.
