To help meet growing demand, the division of professional studies at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston has added a new associates degree program aimed at teaching the fundamentals of assisted living facilities management.
The program is an option titled "Management of Assisted Living and Institutional Facilities," within the associate in science degree, hotel restaurant program. The A.S. degree is granted after completing a total of 65 credits, the school said.
The assisted living and institutional facilities option will combine the specialized skills needed to successfully manage an assisted living facility with the guest centered focus of the college’s successful hotel/restaurant management program. The first courses will be offered in the Spring 2012 semester, which begins Jan. 23, according to a statement.
Bunker Hill Community College is the largest community college in Massachusetts, and enrolls approximately 13,000 students on two campuses and four satellite locations, the school said.
