Stephen I. Burr and Ralph K. Stone have joined the The Boston law firm of Rackemann, Sawyer & Brewster as directors in the real estate department.
They joined the firm from Eckert Seamans, where they were members.

Burr represents the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe as primary business and real estate counsel in the tribe’s development of a destination resort casino in Taunton. Representation includes land assemblage, permitting, design and construction, leasing and financing, as well as private agreements with the city of Taunton and the commonwealth.
He focuses his practice on complex corporate, energy, and real estate transactions, as well as capital structures on all types of real estate, including office buildings, multi-family residential (condominium, apartments, and senior living), industrial/warehouse, retail and convention centers and sports arenas. He has significant experience in all aspects of real estate debt and equity structures, representing real estate fund sponsors, real estate owners and real estate debt and equity capital providers in complex initial capitalization or subsequent recapitalization structures, including private placements. He received his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1976.
Stone concentrates his practice in real estate and business counseling, including all aspects of acquisition, financing, development, leasing and sale of commercial, industrial and residential properties. He has many years of experience in capital markets transactions and in advising owners and lenders concerning distressed real estate assets. He serves as outside general counsel to a number of privately held businesses.
He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1978.
