Callahan Inc. recently broke ground on Acadia on the Charles, a luxury apartment complex in Waltham. Callahan Inc. provided pre-construction services on the Hines project, and continues to provide construction management services.

The four-story, 200-unit building is located on 4.1 acres. The M-shaped building will offer amenities such as a resort-style swimming pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, sports lounge and yoga studio. Other offerings include an Internet café, library, theatre room, below-ground parking, two landscaped courtyards, outdoor deck with fireplace and resident storage areas.

Units will be equipped with stone countertops, stainless steel appliances, high-quality cabinets, all-wood floors and an open kitchen/living area. Some units will feature private balconies or patios overlooking the Charles River.

The property design is being managed by CUBE3 Studio and developed by Callahan, Inc.

The complex is expected to be completed in April 2015, but Hines estimates that the first units will be ready for occupancy as early as November 2014.
