Cambridge Savings Bank recently donated $15,000 to Cambridge Family YMCA and $5,000 to Food For Free through its charitable foundation.

The contribution to the Cambridge Family YMCA will help support its programs, services and facilities which constitute a vital resource for children and families in Cambridge, according to a statement.

"Thanks to the generosity of the Cambridge Savings Bank Foundation, we will bring terrific opportunities for learning and recreation to Cambridge families, and provide important services for those most in need," said Nancy O’Brien, president and CEO, Cambridge Family YMCA.

The donation to Food For Free will be used to assist with the expansion of its produce rescue and home delivery programs, according to a statement. The two programs feed more than 20,000 low-income people each month.

"Food For Free helps feed thousands of those in need throughout our community with fresh and healthy food," said Robert M. Wilson, president and CEO of Cambridge Savings Bank. "Cambridge Savings Bank is proud to support Food For Free and their efforts to respond to these needs."
