Cambridge Savings Bank (CSB) recently educated security experts from American Alarm in Arlington on how to keep their finances safe.

American Alarm had requested the financial security lesson, led by CSB employees John Sabatino, assistant vice president and fraud/loss prevention officer, and Evan Diamond, vice president and financial education program manager. Sabatino is a certified financial crimes investigator and president of the New England Chapter of this organization.

The presentation explained how identity theft takes place and how individuals can reduce the risk of falling victim to it. American Alarm employees witnessed a role-played scam scenario and heard real-life examples of fraud encountered by bank employees. They then received Federal Trade Commission materials on ID theft, a "CSB Fraud Awareness" handout developed by Sabatino and Diamond and a CSBsmart handout.

Nearly 20 American Alarm employees attended the presentation at the company’s Arlington headquarters. It was webcast to branch offices in Auburn, Randolph, Windham, N.H. and Warwick, R.I., where another 20 people participated.
