Cambridge Savings Bank Hires Chief Credit Officer

Bates_Roy Cambridge Savings Bank has appointed Roy Bates as chief credit officer.

In the role, Bates will develop innovative and customized credit solutions to meet expanding needs of Cambridge Savings Bank’s commercial credit portfolio.

"We are honored to have Roy join the team," Chief Financial Officer Michael Gilles said in a statement.

Bates has more than 25 years of experience in banking. He comes to Cambridge Savings Bank from TD Bank where he was responsible for the underwriting and portfolio administration of a $3 billion commercial loan portfolio and directed all activities of a team of credit analysts and portfolio managers. Before that, he spent nine years with Citizens Bank in various positions, including credit, risk management and loan review.
