Cambridge Savings Bank (CSB) recently received the 2012 "Community Impact Award" at the CRA & Fair Lending Colloquium. The award recognized the bank’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) activities, highlighted by its financial education program, CSBsmart.
Since introducing CSBsmart, more than 400 financial education sessions have been conducted for nearly 6,000 participants of all ages and backgrounds, ranging from kindergarteners to homeless war veterans to senior citizens.
The award is presented to dedicated and innovative compliance professionals, and the institutions they represent, for demonstrating original community lending practices while playing an instrumental role in the improvement of low- to moderate-income communities. The award seeks to encourage resourceful community lending and provide the financial industry with examples of successful CRA programs.
Susan Lapierre, senior vice president, community relations and CRA Officer of Cambridge Savings Bank, accepted the award on behalf of the bank at the 2012 CRA & Fair Lending Colloquium in San Antonio, Texas, earlier this month.
