As part of the year-long celebration of Cambridge Savings Bank’s 175th anniversary, employees of the bank donated gifts to local homeless shelters at the bank’s annual awards night.
The Salvation Army was selected as the recipient of the donated gifts.
"I find it remarkable that so many Cambridge Savings Bank employees would use their time and money to help so many unfortunate people during these difficult times," said Major Steve Carroll, commanding officer, Salvation Army Cambridge Citadel/Somerville Corps. "Helping homeless men, women, children and families is a fantastic way to celebrate Cambridge Savings Bank’s 175th anniversary. Our local communities are richer because of the generosity of Cambridge Savings Bank employees."
The gifts collected included clothing, children’s games and toys, baby supplies, books and other assorted necessities. In addition, employees also donated more than $1,100 in gift cards, the bank said.
