The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards recently named Dean H. Murray, trust officer at Gloucester-headquartered Cape Ann Savings Bank, a certified financial planner.
Murray earned the distinction after a rigorous training and testing regiment designed to complement the expertise he has developed during his 23-year career in trusts and investments. Certified financial planners must apply for renewal every two years, which requires 30 hours of continuing education and other requirements.
Murray has been with Cape Ann Savings Bank since 1991. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine, and he also holds the titles of Certified Trust and Financial Advisor and Certified IRA Services Professional from Boston University. At Cape Ann Savings Bank, he is responsible for a range of accounts, including personal trusts, estates, investment management, employee benefits and individual retirement accounts.
