The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank Charitable Foundation Trust donated $647,400 to its community in 2008, according to a statement.
Foundation grants were also awarded to 112 Cape Cod non-profit organizations, the bank said.
Educational mini-grants were awarded to 75 Barnstable County teachers representing 36 schools, and laptop computer scholarships to 13 college-bound high school seniors.
"We praise these grant recipients for their excellent contribution to our quality of life here on Cape Cod," said Dorothy Savarese, chairman of the foundation. "We also congratulate them for submitting their thoughtful requests which increasingly addressed growing needs as economic challenges intensified during the year."
