Cape Cod Cooperative Bank officially kicked off its 90th anniversary celebration yesterday with the unveiling of its new name, The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod. Along with this new name, the bank released a new logo, new tagline and details about a series of special events planned to mark the milestone.
Bank President Joel Crowell made the announcements at a cake cutting ceremony held at the bank’s original branch in Yarmouth Port, where he was joined by bank employees, board members, customers and other dignitaries.
"As we celebrate this milestone anniversary and move into the next chapter, it was the right time to both reflect and renew," said Crowell. "Our customers told us that ‘cooperative’ truly described how we work with them. So moving the word ‘cooperative’ in our name just made sense. It changes the word from a legal term for a type of bank to defining – actually confirming – how we’ve done business for 90 years and how we intend to do business going forward."
The bank is launching a comprehensive marketing campaign to mark the 90th anniversary and introduce the new name. Customers will notice the new branding in branches, on the bank’s website and Facebook page, and on correspondence from the bank starting this week.
Crowell also shared significant renovation plans and unveiled renderings for the bank’s East Dennis and Yarmouth Port branches. The renovations, expected to be completed by next summer, include a complete overhaul of both branches designed to be more inviting, comfortable, and "open" and feature, customer-centric elements, such as digital community boards, space for customers to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee, and public internet access.
Throughout this week, each of the six branches will host a cake cutting ceremony for customers, provide free giveaways, and launch a raffle for gift certificates and tickets to Cape venues.
The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod has branches in six locations including 1591 Main St., East Dennis; 1470 Orleans Road, East Harwich; 695 Attucks Lane, Hyannis; 275 Cotuit Road, Sandwich; 1121 Main St., West Barnstable; and 121 Main St., Yarmouth Port.
