Dorothy Savarese, president and CEO of The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, has been nominated to serve on the board of directors of the American Bankers Association (ABA). She will officially become a member of the board at the ABA’s annual convention to be held October 19 – 22.
“I am honored to have been asked to serve as a director of the ABA. This nomination truly reflects the success of all of us at the Cape Cod Five in building a strong community bank,” Savarese said in a statement. “My experience on the state level as past chairman of the board of the Massachusetts Bankers Association, along with my national experience serving on the FDIC Advisory Committee on Community Banking, America’s Community Bankers Council and the American Bankers Mutual Insurance Board will be extraordinarily useful in representing the interests of the Cape Cod Five, and by extension, our customers and communities.”
Savarese became president and CEO of Cape Cod Five in 2005. She serves as chairman of the board of directors and executive committee and chairman of the Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank Charitable Foundation Trust.
