Two huge lots of undeveloped residential land on Martha’s Vineyard have been listed for sale by Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg and her husband, Edwin Schlossberg. The list price is $45 million. The listing agent in Deborah Hancock of Hancock Real Estate in Menemsha.

Real estate agents familiar with the property told Banker & Tradesman that the Aquinnah lots represent a portion of a more than 300-acre estate originally purchased by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis in the late 1970s. That property was subdivided in 2006 and the allotments for sale have been given the address of 6 and 8 Red Gate Farm. 6 Red Gate Farm is comprised of 39.5 acres and is listed for $20 million. 8 Red Gate Farm totals 53.3 acres and is currently listed for $25 million.

The lots are on "one of the most beautiful parts of the island – one most people haven’t been able to access," said John Connolly, broker/owner of Vineyard Realty Group in Edgartown.

If completed at the list prices, the sales would be some of the largest land transactions in the island’s history. According to data provided by The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman, only a 2001 purchase by of 215-acre former farm by The Nature Concervance for $64 million would exceed it. Another estate, consisting of five land parcels totaling 266-acres in West Tisbury, is currently listed on the island for $92 million.
