Carriage House at Lee’s Farm, a new assisted living community in Wayland, has officially opened.

Managed by The Northbridge Cos., Carriage House at Lee’s Farm is a 62-unit senior living community at 134 Boston Post Road. It offers independent living, assisted living and memory care. Callahan Inc. broke ground on the community in December 2012.

The two-story wood framed structure is approximately 54,000 square feet and includes a mix of studios and one- and two- bedroom units, all of which are customizable. Wayland artist Christina Zwart created sculpture installations for the walls. Community amenities include a salon and barber shop, computer lab, pub and a grand dining room as well as community programs.

"We are thrilled to open the doors and welcome our first residents to the Carriage House. The community is a stunning building with a unique character befitting the surrounding farm and the town of Wayland," Lara Sullivan, community director at Carriage House, said in a statement. "We’ve already welcomed 16 new residents and look forward to welcoming more in the days ahead."
