Sherry Carter, of Agawam, has received West Springfield-based United Bank’s Service Excellence Award for the first quarter.

The quarterly award recognizes an employee whose on-the-job performance exemplifies excellence in service, according to a statement.

"Sherry is a great team player who is always willing to help when needed," said Michelle Winer, branch operations supervisor. "She is aware that our level of customer service is what sets us apart from other banks, and provides it every day. Her positive attitude is the difference that makes her very deserving of this honor."

Carter, a senior teller at United’s Agawam branch, has been with the bank for more than 10 years.
