Louis Chinappi has been named industry relations manager for Massachusetts by Connecticut-based regional title insurer CATIC.

Chinappi’s responsibilities will include fostering and managing relationships with lenders, Realtors and builders throughout Massachusetts, the company said. He will also assist in recruiting new title insurance agents and promoting the role of the attorney in real estate transactions.

Prior to joining CATIC, Chinappi spent 15 years at Stoneham Cooperative Bank, where he managed the mortgage lending department. He also has 12 years’ experience working in the title insurance industry, most notably at First American.

A Peabody resident and graduate of Salem State College, Chinappi currently serves as a member of the board of directors for the Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association.
