Commercial real estate firms CB Richard Ellis and Jones Lang LaSalle have raised more than $20,000 to support Norwood High School hockey player Matt Brown, who suffered spinal cord trauma in a high school hockey game.
The companies played each other in a hockey game last month at the Steriti Memorial Hockey Rink. Jones Lang LaSalle won the game 4 to 3. All proceeds were donated to 15-year-old Brown and his family.
"This is a special time when we can combine fun, heartfelt support and competition to help the Brown family and uplift their spirit," said Jones Lang LaSalle Managing Director Phil DeSimone.
Through employee contributions and matching corporate donations, CBRE and Jones Lang LaSalle raised the combined total of more than $20,000 on behalf of the Browns to benefit Matt’s rehabilitation.
"We’re happy to get out here and raise money to support this cause," said Ogden White, senior vice president/partner at CB Richard Ellis. "Every goal scored was a small way in which we could contribute and we wish Matt and his family the very best during this time."
A fundraising event to benefit the Matt Brown Rehab and Recovery Fund will be held April 30 at Gillette Stadium.
