New England’s largest multiple listing service will likely partner with the Cape Cod & Islands Association of Realtors MLS by the end of the month.

The boards of Multiple Listing Service-Property Information Network and the CCIAR have voted to share listings, but the deal has not been finalized yet, according to Kathleen E. Condon, president and chief executive officer of MLS-PIN.

The move would allow members of both MLS systems to submit property listings on both services, giving properties more exposure to potential buyers. This would also save members money because they would not have to pay membership fees to both MLS, said Condon.

“It will particularly help those users who have listings on the borders of communities served by the two MLS [systems],” she said.

MLS-PIN has more than 15,000 members.

Condon said the MLS-PIN board of directors asked her to approach the Cape Cod association about partnering in May. The process has taken several months because during the summer board members are on vacation and don’t meet as often, she said.

The partnership comes several months after MLS-PIN signed an alliance with Rhode Island’s statewide MLS and the consolidated MLS in the Fairfield County region of Connecticut. MLS-PIN and the two other services decided to merge because they share the same Web-based application and vendor, making it easy for the three to join forces, said Condon.
