Central Bancorp Appoints Former Commissioner Of Banks To Board

Somerville’s Central Bancorp Inc., the parent company of Central Co-operative Bank, has appointed Gerald T. Mulligan as a member of the board of directors of the company and the bank.

Mulligan has extensive banking experience including having served as president and chief executive officer of both RiverBank in North Andover and Andover Bank in Andover. Mulligan also served as Massachusetts commissioner of banks from 1979 to 1983 and is currently a director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston, according to a statement.
